    • Inndividual Evaluation:

      • We do not hold traditional auditions. Instead, we offer a 30-minute individual evaluation.

      • This evaluation allows our instructors to assess your skills, technique, and overall potential.

      • It also gives you and your child a chance to visit our studio, meet an instructor, and get a feel for our environment.

    • Scheduling Your Evaluation:

      • To schedule an evaluation, please contact us at thedancecollectivemd@gmail.com

      • Evaluations are by appointment only and are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

    • Video Submissions:

      • If you are unable to attend an in-person evaluation, we are also accepting video submissions.

      • Please email your video submission to thedancecollectivemd@gmail.com

      • In your video, showcase a variety of dance techniques and routines that highlight your skills and potential. Solo submissions are preferred.

      • Our instructors will review your submission and provide feedback.

    • What to Expect:

      • During the evaluation, whether in-person or via video, your child will be assessed on various dance techniques and routines.

      • Our instructors will provide feedback and answer any questions you may have about our program.

    • Post-Evaluation:

      • If your child is invited to join our competition team, we will provide a comprehensive contract detailing all aspects of participation.

      • This contract includes time commitments, financial obligations, and program expectations.

      • Offers are typically extended within 2-3 business days following the evaluation or video submission review. We require a response within 48 hours to secure your spot on the team.

    • Spots are Limited: Our team spots are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. We recommend scheduling your evaluation or submitting your video as soon as possible to ensure your place on the team.

    • Closed Classes: Please note that we do not allow interested dancers to take classes with our current company members, as these classes are closed to the public.

    • Summer Program: If your child prefers to experience a class before proceeding with the evaluation, our summer program offers a variety of drop-in classes starting July 21 This is a great opportunity to explore different dance styles and meet our instructors.

    • Registration: To complete the registration process, a deposit is required. Detailed information about fees and payment options will be provided upon acceptance into the team.

  • Dancers who participate in the competitive program at TDC will train in a variety of styles, including ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and musical theatre.

    Training Schedule & Commitment:

    • Our program is designed with balance in mind—competition dancers train a maximum of 3 required days per week, ensuring they can commit to their craft while still having time for school, family, and other activities.

    • Due to our limited training schedule, we have a strict absence policy. Competitive dancers are allowed only 3 absences from company classes per season to ensure all dancers meet the required standards.

    • Aside from our mandatory two-day Summer Intensive in August, there are no additional summer commitments for competition dancers.

    Competitions & Nationals:

    • Dancers will participate in 5-6 local regional competitions throughout the season.

    • Mini/Junior, Teen, and Senior Company members will attend one National competition each year.

    • Outside of the required competitions, dancers have the option to attend additional competitions and conventions for more stage and training opportunities.

    Team Experience & Extras:

    • Every season, our dancers take part in a professional photoshoot & media day, capturing their artistry in high-quality images.

    • TDC isn’t just about competition—we build lifelong friendships through fun team events, including:
